My name is Erika Kotite and I founded Kotite Media Group in 2008. Print publishing was being challenged by new forms of reading, sharing, writing and producing. After spending years in traditional publishing (both books and magazines) I fell in love with two things–food and WordPress–and launched Toque Magazine in 2010. Toque features an NPR-style approach to food trends, culture and history. We also follow the food app world closely and held our first Food App Awards in December 2011.
At the same time I wanted to be part of the excitement of YouTube and user-generated video content. Working with Ila Couch I launched the “What’s for Dinner, America?” video series. In 2013 I became content director for Closet Factory and continue to produce video content like this.
I am a seasoned editor with all of the classical training and skills that you would expect after working with so many excellent publishers and projects. My role–and goal–now is to capitalize on my newfound talents in digital media and social marketing.
